RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teaching upper-division courses as well as graduate-level courses in Operations Management/ Supply Chain Management/ Transportation/ Logistics/ Purchasing & Procurement/ Enterprise Resource Planning/ Agribusiness centric courses
  • Developing an effective curriculum, benchmarking the best teaching practices of operations and supply chain management, and their application to agribusiness
  • Creating a demonstrable commitment to research, following Academically Qualified expectations as outlined by the AACSB; Some track record of published research is critical
  • Demonstrating capability in engaging student learning in an outcomes-based educational environment
  • Engaging with operations management and supply chain management with the agribusiness industry comprised of packers & shippers and other community stakeholders; a professional network is critical
  • Participating actively, exercising collaborative peer leadership, in college and university committees
  • Willingness to mentor students and enable their career goals through introduction and referrals to firms in operations and supply chain management
  • Teaching 8 credits per semester for the first two years and thereafter teaching 12 credits per semester


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ph.D. in Operations Management/Supply Chain Management/Transportation/Logistics or closely related area of study, by the time of appointment, from a Regional and/or AACSB accredited doctoral program; ABD can apply
  • Passionate about teaching preferably evidenced by good student evaluations; must be able to demonstrate teaching capabilities
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues are essential
  • Ability to teach effectively in a wide range of courses, mostly in Operations/ Supply Chain Management/Logistics/ Purchasing and Procurement/ Enterprise Resource Planning, and application of such disciplinary areas in agribusiness centric courses at graduate and undergraduate level
  • Experience working effectively in an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community and business community


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Academic training and/or research in the area of Operations Management/ Supply Chain Management/ Transportation/ Logistics/ Purchasing & Procurement/ Enterprise Resource Planning as applicable to the area of agribusiness is preferred
  • Experience teaching agribusiness-centric courses at the undergraduate level is preferred
  • Work experience in Operations Management as related to the supply chain management, transportation & logistics industry applied in the area of agriculture/agribusiness is desirable
  • Since CSUMB's business community is composed of agribusiness-packers and shippers, hospitality, technology, and small businesses, knowledge, and experience with these stakeholders is preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in professional and or academic areas are desirable

There are components of this job which are deemed essential on campus. This position will primarily work on the main campus, with occasional work from home. This position requires working on campus with students. The health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff remain our highest priority. In the fall, students, faculty, staff, and the community can expect that masks will be required and that the appropriate degree of social distancing will be in place in all areas based on evolving guidance. Additionally, all students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to be vaccinated before coming to campus.
