Our North America Ports and Maritime practice and the New York City and Philadelphia offices are growing. We are seeking enthusiastic and dynamic individuals who want to deliver and seek out challenging projects that really make a difference to our communities. You will join an established and thriving Ports and Maritime practice based in either our New York City or Philadelphia office and work on maritime projects ranging from new port developments, container terminals, marine oil and LNG terminals, protection schemes for our coastal communities, regional resiliency projects, and waterfront developments for a range of public and private sector clients across the globe. You will have the chance to lead in the delivery of our wide-ranging portfolio of maritime projects and work as part of an integrated and forward thinking team. As a key member of our growing Ports and Maritime practice you will be an integral part of our plan to continue expanding our business and help make CH2M the industry-leader in the Ports and Maritime sector.
Your key responsibilities will be to: Working collaboratively with our coastal, geotechnical, mechanical/electrical, and marine structural engineers and other technologists to successfully manage and deliver our Ports and Maritime projects. Help to grow our portfolio of maritime projects in the Mid-Atlantic and New England region with a primary focus on resiliency projects in the NY-NJ region. Work collaboratively across our client sectors, practices, and offices using excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with colleagues and clients. Manage the successful delivery contract documents, design basis, technical specifications, and other client deliverables. Manage and deliver projects and/or tasks to budget. Assist in the development of technical approaches and fees for proposals while mentoring younger engineers.
· Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or coastal engineering required. · Minimum of 6 years of experience in the delivery and management of maritime projects
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
· Prefer experience with the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions. · Professional engineering license · For the position based in New York City, candidates possessing knowledge of the local NY and NJ-based clients, such as the New York City Economic Development Corporation, Port Authority of NY & NJ, Hudson River Park Trust, DEP, Department of Design and Construction, and/or other private and public clients involved with the waterfront are preferred, but not required. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary teams, both domestically and internationally.
