CH2M is currently initiating a search for a Transit & Rail CBTC Engineer for our New York City Transit and Rail Group.
The Transit & Rail CBTC engineer serves as a Systems Integration Manager for our NYC Transit and Rail Group and have a hand in transforming tomorrow.
This person will drive projects that combine traditional rail signaling systems with new and advanced CBTC technologies to shape the solutions that we bring to light for solving our client's highly specialized transit and rail needs. • Serve as a signaling and CBTC Systems Integration Manager for transit system projects • Work closely with the PM to co-ordinate the execution of transit system programs with regional and national transit leadership • Apply theory, knowledge and experience in the management, analysis and design of multi-discipline rail projects in both brownfield and green field applications with high degrees of technical complexity involving a large project staff • Effectively co-ordinate and supervise the work of transit system staff professionals and technicians during the entire project to complete project documents/plans/analysis on schedule • Assist with marketing and outreach to clients and other stakeholders in the transit system and other market sectors • Identify, support and occasionally lead proposals seeking to win new work • Work with Business, Accounting Managers, Project Controllers and CH2M management, as needed, to manage projects, achieve goals, and assist in the business of the firm • Responsible for overseeing Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures on transit systems projects
• BS in electrical engineering or equivalent technical field • Minimum 10 years of rail/transit experience with at least 5 years of experience in systems design/integration work with a manufacturer/installer or at least 5 years of client side experience with a rail consultant or transit agency • Demonstrable expertise in the full life cycle of rail signal systems and the engineering thereof including train planning/modeling, block design, RAMS, system design, vital and non-vital logic programming, installation, verification & validation, commissioning, and asset management • Project experience implementing positive train control, ERTMS Level 2, or CBTC; as well as traditional signaling systems of all types • Ability to demonstrate comfort with being viewed as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves complex and technically challenging problems while planning, developing, and implementing projects or design activities which have significant impact on major transit system programs and 24/7 live train operations • Ability to demonstrate effective project and task management skills • Experience marketing to clients • Must be a strong team leader, consensus builder and team player skilled in technical writing, communicating and presenting to clients
