CH2M is seeking a full time Transportation Traffic Engineer to join our growing team in Henderson, Nevada.
As a Transportation Traffic Engineer you will work on complex transportation and flood control projects that will require you to successfully perform multiple aspects of engineering design including technical analysis, study and technical report writing, production of engineering plans, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates, and coordination with multiple agencies and utility companies. You will work on challenging and exciting major planning and design projects. The majority of work will be associated with local entity and state DOT projects. NDOT experience is preferred, but not required.
This position requires a BS in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience. Our top candidate will have the ability to communicate and coordinate with clients and stakeholders, understands data analysis, and is interested in working with a skilled team to find solutions to complex and challenging problems that best serve our clients and our community. This position includes involvement in project delivery and management, as well as the technical work on the projects. Ability to manage work to keep on schedule and budget, and demonstrated success working in a team environment is required. Experience working with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microstation is preferred. Experience with technical drainage and traffic studies and working with design teams on large projects is preferred.
Our Transportation Traffic Engineers: • Have experience in freeway, arterial roadway, and flood control design projects • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic analysis using various local entity approved design software, completing technical drainage studies, and a working knowledge of the MPU for the Las Vegas Valley • Conduct calculations for channels, culverts, inlets, and storm drain systems • Prepare or work closely with a designer to prepare complex grading plans • Experience with roadway design concepts including the development of horizontal and vertical alignments • Experience with utility coordination • Experience developing plans, specifications, and estimates for major interstate, expressway, arterial, trail, regional drainage, and local drainage projects.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience that includes hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, completion of technical studies, work on production of project plans, specifications, and cost estimates, and coordination with agencies and utility companies
Experience with local entity and NDOT standards, design standards and specifications
Ability to manage workload and keep on schedule and budget within a team environment
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D and MircroStation is preferred.
Able to obtain PE in the State of Nevada within one year
