Our South Florida Aviation Group is conducting a search for an Aviation Construction Inspector to be responsible for projects at Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport. This project will last approximately 12-18 months, will be based out of San Juan Puerto Rico and will be responsible for aviation projects specializing in taxiway, runway, apron, drainage and electrical/lighting. This person will be on-site working directly with one of our key clients as well as subcontractors and others involved in the improvements at this location.
Duties and responsibilities: • Work with the Senior Aviation Inspector and Construction Manager on the following o All aviation projects o Construction contract, change management and conflict resolution o Coordinate with owner and contractor to handle all issues related to FAA standards and regulations, RFIs, field orders, field bulletins, construction change proposals, change orders, negotiations, etc • Support the Senior Construction Manager to drive all construction efforts and support of managing construction contractors as well as construction inspection • Drive efforts for the full-time inspection of construction activities representing our client and will be responsible for construction project administration • Responsible for quality assurance testing, review quality control testing, administering contract changes, reviewing quantities, managing costs and other construction management pieces our client assigns us to complete • Use your coordination and strong client management/communication skills to ensure the project is safe, on time and on budget If you’re up for the challenge, we’ve been looking for someone just like you. • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a construction inspector • Ability to demonstrate significant experience as an on-site airfield inspector • Ability to demonstrate experience with FAA construction regulations • Ability to demonstrate knowledge/experience with airfield projects that involve taxiway/runway/apron rehabilitation, as well as drainage, sewer and electrical projects • Ability to demonstrate experience in cement concrete runway, taxiway and apron construction • Ability to demonstrate strong communication and staff management skills
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
• BS degree in related engineering discipline or construction management • Bilingual in Spanish
