Our Transportation Planner Project Manager career path is your opportunity to work on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure projects.
You will participate in the development of planning studies and/or NEPA environmental documents for a variety of transportation related projects across Hawaii’s islands. You will be responsible for assessing, document preparation, stakeholder coordination, managing the writing and review of technical sections, permit applications, public presentations, will work closely with the engineering team in the development of alternatives, screening and provide recommendations. You will interface with clients and participate in developing business for CH2M’s planning practice in Honolulu Office. You will perform planning tasks on highway and bridge projects, transit, harbor and aviation projects as well. You should have a minimum of 10 years of environmental or transportation planning work experience, which includes corridor and master planning studies for the local Hawaii’s agencies, i.e. Hawaii Department of Transportation, Cities & Counties, or Transit Authority, with a relevant BS/BA degree, excellent communication, writing skills and a working knowledge of planning requirements for transportation projects.. An MS and environmental policy analysis experience along with state and local permitting experience is preferred. Significant contributions to client relationship efforts and public understanding are expected. AICP certification is desired. You should have proven project management and business development skills as well as a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each transportation planner job.
• Related BS/BA degree • A minimum of 10 years environmental planning work experience • Demonstrated experience with HDOT, FTA, Cities, Counties and local Hawaii’s jurisdictions • Working knowledge of NEPA/SEPA requirements for transportation projects
