Submittals Lead Transit and Rail-Toronto, Ontario
Experienced Submittals Lead to perform in a fast-paced high energy team environment, supporting the Project Team in the execution of Alternative Finance and Procurement (AFP) contract administration activities on a large Light Rail Transit project.
Under limited supervision, using independent judgement and excellent organizational skills, you will coordinate Project Co submittals in accordance with all company standards and contractual requirements. You should be fluent in contract administration systems (e.g. CM14) with a minimum of 2 years of progressive experience ideally within major transit infrastructure projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Works within the Contract Administration team and accountable to the Project Agreement Manager
Monitoring, influencing, and communicating Project Co's schedule for submittals
Coordinating with teams including Client, and internal and external Stakeholders, conducting reviews and commenting on submittals from Project Co
May have supervisory/lead responsibility over a group and functions as a team lead.
Role Specific Tasks and Competencies
With the dedicated Project Document Control Manager, coordinate with the Client's document control team to:
Receive submittals from Project Co
Receive, send, and maintain review comment registers between Project Co, Client, and stakeholders
Check suitability of Client and Stakeholder comments in terms of:
Compliance with requirements of the Project Agreement
Encouraging an ongoing constructive relationship with Project Co
Tracking submittals to completion in accordance with the timescale requirements stated within the Project Agreement
Building excellent relationship with Client, Project Co
Maintain documentation of activities
Prepare summary reports for Executive Management
Project Delivery Knowledge
Project delivery using AFP, P3, or methodology

Good understanding and practical application of contract administration and document management software, CM14 and Aconex are desired
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
Relevant degree in construction management, engineering, or document management
At least 2+ years' experience in construction and major projects environment
Minimum 2+ years’ working as a Submittals Coordinator
Broad knowledge of transit engineering, operations, and maintenance
Experience of engineering design management and review
