Iteris Roadway Sensors division is looking for an individual to join our hardware design team. The division is embarking on an exciting period in our growth and is looking for team players with a ‘make-it-happen’ attitude. The successful candidate will perform the responsibilities for the development of new products from concept to production. Managing the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of designs and strategies for products, systems, features, or enhancements.
Key responsibilities include:
Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of electricity and materials.
Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties.
Develops electrical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.
Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Act as a liaison to other engineering functions and other departments (Operations, Sales and Marketing, Product Support).
Prepare reports on team/project progress.
Coordinate design reviews and other development reviews as necessary.
Manage field and production issues and drive resolution of problems.
B.S. in an Electrical Engineering, Masters preferred.
5 or more years of general hardware development and test experience.
5 or more years of experience with embedded systems design.
5 or more years of experience with embedded software applications.
5 or more years of experience with designing or developing electro-mechanical devices.
5 or more years of experience with FPGA design.
5 or more years of experience with Power Supply design.
5 or more years working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies.
2 or more years experience with FCC, NEMA, CE or similar approvals.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the product development field. (Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, Kanban).
Familiar with MS and Linux OS environments.
